Silicone rubber profiles are often made of one or two-part polymers & may contain fillers to improve properties or reduce cost. Silicone profiles offer good resistance to extreme temperatures, being able to operate normally from -100 0 C to 300 0 C. Silicone rubber is a material of choice in industries when shape & mechanical strength is desired under heavy thermal stress or sub-zero temperatures. Silicone profiles are highly inert & do not react with most chemicals, because of which it is also used in many medical applications including medical implants. There are many special grades in which these profiles can be made. Some of the key features of these are Steam resistance, High Tear strength, extremely high temperatures, and extremely low temperatures, chemical/oil/acid/gas resistant, low smoke emitting & flame retardant.
